      The lists you choose are critical because they have the greatest impact on the
      success or failure of your promotion. We understand this and make list
      recommendations based on a thorough knowledge of list selection criteria and
      your marketing needs to earn you the highest response rates.

      We also:
  • Research lists for your market and provide you with detailed descriptions on datacards.

  • Discover what similar mailers have done successfully.

  • Investigate your past experiences with lists you’ve already used to determine their worth.

  • Pre-clear samples of your mailing.

  • Provide list counts specified to meet your needs.

  • Create a list quantity chart matrix based on counts and segments such as geography, job title and function.

  • Place your list orders in a clear organized format and secure reciprocal agreement and permission to mail to multi-buyers.

  • Receive and handle list rental agreements or guarantee of payment to list managers to ensure payment in 30 days.

  • Pre-pay directly to list managers for established clients.

  • Verify that orders are received and follow the process through to the end.

  • Get final counts based on specifics in order and check final counts against earlier estimated counts (the two are often different).

  • Verify the service bureau received the tape in good condition.

  • Coordinate with the merge/purge house on identifying tapes, quantities and merge priority.

  • Notify the list manager of a change in mail date if your print schedule changes.

  • Review the merge/purge report from the service bureau to ensure gross quantities match list invoice quantities.

  • Arrange for a back-end disk so you can track keycodes when the brochure does not allow for capturing keycodes.

  • Return nixies to the list manager and arrange for credit for returned mail if quantity is excessive for bad addresses identified from the merge/purge report.

For over 25 years he has consulted and helped dozens of associations, seminar, conference and tradeshow companies and training organizations become more profitable. Before founding Lewis Direct, Mark worked for CareerTrack Seminars for 10 years. He developed the On-site Sales, Corporate Communications, Newsletter and International departments. As International Manager, Mark's close liaison with foreign markets included the United Kingdom, Ireland, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the Pacific Rim.
